n modern façade engineering, the choice of adhesive or sealant plays a pivotal role in ensuring the long-term performance, durability, and structural reliability of cladding systems. This study investigates and compares three prominent products used for façade panel bonding: 1) Power Grab ‘n’ Bond (PGB TRIBRID®), 2) CT1 TRIBRID® Sealant, and 3) DOWSIL™ 896 Panel Fix. 

Each of these adhesives originates from differing chemical families (hybrid polymers vs. silicones), with varied performance characteristics, certifications, and suitability for materials such as cement boards, silica boards, aluminium composite panels, and more. • DOWSIL™ 896 PanelFix: A silicone-based neutral cure adhesive developed specifically for façade panel bonding, offering green strength and long-term durability. It is CE-marked and approved under ETA and DIBt.

- CT1 TRIBRID® is a versatile sealant suitable for bonding a wide range of materials. It is ideal for applications where movement accommodation and aesthetic finish (paintability) are important.

- Power Grab ‘n’ Bond offers extremely high initial grab, which is valuable during site conditions where mechanical fixings are unavailable. However, it lacks façade-specific certification and long-term validation.

For exterior façade applications in regulated markets, certified products are typically required. DOWSIL™ 896 PanelFix offers the most comprehensive certifications, including CE marking, ETA, DIBt, and passes VOC/indoor air quality standards like EC1 and Blue Angel.

CT1 TRIBRID® is certified to EC1 Plus and Indoor Air Comfort Gold, making it suitable for indoor environments, while PGB TRIBRID® lacks formal façade system approvals.
